Timeless Colors: Siding and Trim

Whether you’re replacing the siding on your home or painting your current siding, deciding on color and style can be a daunting task. After all, there are thousands of combinations and options available.

Color and style can also impact the value of your home, but there are many options available giving you the freedom to design dream homes. Take a look at a few of our favorite siding and trim combinations to help you get started.

White Siding

White is a neutral color — it’s neither warm nor cool meaning there are plenty of pairing options. Any siding color gets a boost from the brightness of white trim—including white siding. A white siding and white trim brings all of your home accents together. Or try a tan trim for an cozy and warm aesthetic. Or go bold with an accent color to make a statement. A white house with black trim is gaining popularity for the contrast sleek design.

Neutral Siding

Neutral tones are always a safe bet and work with a variety of accent and trim colors. Against beige siding, tan trim has the look of traditional wood beams. For an adaptable choice, you can select a few neutral tones to complete the siding and trim of your home.

Yellow Siding

A yellow house embodies undoubtable charm, making it an ideal option for siding. Surprisingly, it is a versatile color and one of the best options for siding. There are a number of yellows that work well for home facades, ranging from light yellows to darker. If you’re considering yellow for your home try an off-white trim or accent color like green or brown.

Blue Siding

Cool colors are more relaxing and are most common in northern parts of the country. This color looks clean and can be paired with a variety of trim colors to make your home composition look whole. A blue house with white trim is always a classic. If your siding is dark or light blue, you can never go wrong with white trim, or you can consider grey trim for an updated twist.

Green Siding

Green siding may be considered retro, but a gray-green color looks especially sharp when coupled with white trim. As a natural tone, pale green siding will complement the organic look of your home and is a great option for a home that is surrounded by foliage.
